Welcome to the
Lake Poinsett Community
Lake Poinsett is more than a place—it is a shared resource and a community we are committed to sustaining for generations. From early-morning fishing and sailing regattas to quiet evenings by the campfire, the experiences we value depend on thoughtful stewardship and collaboration.
Our current vision is for residents, businesses, landowners, local governments, and partner agencies to work together to strengthen Lake Poinsett’s water quality and water quantity, protect fish and wildlife habitat, support safe and responsible recreation, and guide development in ways that respect the lake’s long-term health.
The LPA supports a coordinated, practical roadmap for the lake’s future. Priorities include addressing nutrient runoff and algae, preparing for aquatic invasive species, improving wastewater and road infrastructure, promoting public safety and emergency access, and advancing recreation, tourism, and economic opportunities responsibly.
Achieving this vision will take broad participation and clear communication. We invite every Lake Poinsett resident and stakeholder—seasonal and year-round—to stay informed, share ideas, volunteer, and help prioritize solutions that preserve the lake while building a connected and resilient community.
The board is organized into committees with commitment terms of 3 years.
Meetings are at 9 AM on the first Saturday of the month.
