The mission of the Lake Poinsett Sanitary District is to protect public health, the environment and water quality, and support community well‑being by consistently providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable wastewater services to the Lake Poinsett community.

Fees & Services

The LPSD provides sanitary sewer services and is contracted with Brookings Dumpster Service to provide trash and recycling services. The LPSD also has a  location for septic haulers to dump septic pumpings.

Sanitary Sewer Service Fees

  • Quarterly Residential Users - $246

  • Quarterly Commercial Users - $311

  • Annual Rental Unit in Commercial (hotel, cabin, ect.) - $246

  • Quarterly Mobile Home or Single Unit Users (structure owned by inhabitant on a rental lot) - $246​

  • Annual Commercial Campground (per site) - $325

  • Quarterly Vacant Lot Fee (sewer is still present) - 60% of quarterly rate

  • Late Fees - 10% of invoice total if not paid within 30 days

Other Sanitary Sewer Fees

  • Sanitary Sewer Permit Fee - $100 (form below required for all sanitary sewer work performed within the LPSD) 

  • Connection Fee - $2,200

  • ​Septic Tank Pumping Fee - $220

  • Lagoon Dumping Fee (per load) - $35 (form below required before dumping will be permitted)

Garbage Fees

  • Year-round Service (January-December) - $243 plus sales tax

  • Seasonal Service (April-October) - $173 plus sales tax
